Hello, I’m Charlotte!

I’m a California native with a passion for learning and empowering others to ground themselves to be capable of change. I have always been energetic in supporting my community's capacity for strength and ability to be a force for good.

My sustainability journey started during my undergraduate studies in the Honors College at the University of California, Santa Barbara, double-majoring in Environmental Studies and Communication. While attending university, I joined a mission-driven start-up, Apeel Sciences. I spent seven years at Apeel helping create the company's Sustainability Team and ESG Strategy, as well as participating in the Produce Marketing Association's Sustainability Committee and the International Fresh Produce Association's Sustainability Council.

Eager to further my sustainability knowledge and research topics that have been gnawing at me for years, I decided to pursue a Ph.D. at the University of Michigan School for the Environment and Sustainability.. I am advised by Dr. Joshua Newell and support the research efforts of the Urban Sustainability Research Group.

When I am not at my desk, you can find me paddling on the Puget Sound, gleaning with the local Food Bank, browsing other people's bookshelves, or fruitlessly trying to tire out my dog Olive.
